Department of Applied Physics and Telecommunications

 Post: Teaching Assistant/ Assistant Lecturer (1 Post)

Qualifications

  • A very good first degree in Telecommunications or equivalent with at least 2.1 pass.
  • A good command in programming.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB.
  • Demonstrate ability to use computational and modelling packages in Communications, Signals and Networks.
  • Show theoretical appreciation and understanding of Wireless Communications, Mobile Networks, IP and IoT (good passes in these modules or their equivalents).
  • Registration with a recognised professional engineering body is an added advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Assisting Lecturers in teaching.
  • Conducting Tutorials.
  • Assisting students’ practical and offering technical assistance to students during their projects.

Qualifications:          

  • BSc Degree in Library and Information Science or a Higher National Diploma in Library and Information Science plus any Undergraduate Degree.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an academic library.

DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of library administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensures that library facilities are well maintained.
  • Makes recommendations to the Senior Assistant Librarian for new services, collections, additions and replacement of materials.
  • Ensures the implementation of library policies and manuals of procedure.
  • Serves as the liaison point between the library and other University units.
  • Supervises library stock take activities.
  • Keeps records relating to library staff.
  • Ensures effective operation of library security systems.
  • Maintains patron records.
  • Ensures high standards of customer care and responds to queries by library patrons.
  • Monitors continuously the relevance of the library collection and acts accordingly.
  • Performs quality control for processed library materials.
  • Instructs and guides students, faculty and other researchers in identifying and using information materials appropriate to their needs.
  • Supervises shelving, shelf reading, evening and weekend duty.

INTERNAL AUDIT SECTION

POST: INTERNAL AUDIT ASSISTANT (X 1)

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor of Accountancy Honours Degree or equivalent, and
  • Full ACCA, CIS or equivalent qualification.
  • As least two (2) years internal auditing experience a MUST
  • Knowledge of computerised accounting packages/ systems will be an added advantage
  • Applicants should preferably be members of the Internal Auditors in Zimbabwe
  • Must be highly computer literate with a deep understanding on internal controls and accounting systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will report to the Internal Auditor and will be responsible for:

  • Assisting Internal Auditor in producing a risk based annual audit plan
  • Assisting external auditors in the performance of financial year end audits
  • Check on accuracy of all financial statements and income returns
  • Compliance testing and Substantive testing
  • Reporting audit findings and making recommendations for systems improvements
