1. POST: EXECUTIVE DEAN (X 1)
FACULTY OF COMMERCE

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • The candidate must have earned a Doctorate with considerable University teaching experience and demonstrate ability to carry out independent and original research in one of the following: Business Management, Marketing Management, Economics, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship, Insurance and Risk Management, Retail and Logistics Management, Accounting, Banking and Finance or equivalent.
  • The candidate must demonstrate commitment to academic excellence through University teaching, research and publication.
  • Have ability to communicate at all levels within and outside the University.
  • Have good University administrative experience either as Chair/Head of Department, Dean of Faculty or Director of School.
  • Must be committed to the institution’s teaching and learning methodologies based on work related learning and flexible packaging.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dean shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for:

  • Providing academic and administrative leadership to the Faculty, including all Faculty planning and control in the specific areas of human resources, budgeting, academic programmes, departmental equipment and other matters.
  • Leading the Faculty in achieving its objectives through the development and delivery of sound and innovative programmes, the promotion of excellence in teaching and research and in securing support for the Faculty through partnerships and linkages with other Universities and organizations.
  • Undertaking fund raising to support teaching and research in the Faculty.
  • Establishing linkages and partnerships with industry, commerce, professional establishments and informal sectors in order to support student internships, sandwich modules and work related learning.
  • Contributing to the evolution and maintenance of a comprehensive and conducive learning environment at the University.

 

2.POST: DIRECTOR (X 1)
GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The candidate must have earned a Doctorate with considerable University teaching experience and demonstrate ability to carry out independent and original research in one of the following: Accounting, Business Management, Marketing Management, Economics, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Entrepreneurship, Insurance and Risk Management, Retail and Logistics Management, Banking and Finance or equivalent.

  • Providing academic and administrative leadership to the School, including all School planning and control in the specific areas of human resources, budgeting, academic programmes, departmental equipment and other matters.
  • Leading the School in achieving its objectives through the development and delivery of sound and innovative programmes, the promotion of excellence in teaching and research and in securing support for the School through partnerships and linkages with other Universities and organizations.
  • Undertaking fund raising to support teaching and research in the School.
  • Establishing linkages and partnerships with industries, commerce, professional establishments and informal sectors in order to support student internships, sandwich modules and work related learning.
  • Contributing to the evolution and maintenance of a comprehensive and conducive learning environment at the University.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 3 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefit both the students and the University

1).MANICALAND COLLEGE OF APPLIED SCIENCES

Department of Chemical and Processing Engineering

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

Qualifications

  • First degree in Chemistry or equivalent
  • Masters degree in Chemistry or equivalent
  • PhD in Chemistry or equivalent

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and conducting students’ practical and should be able to teach the following modules:

  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry
  • Separation Techniques
  • Instrumental Analytical Techniques and Innovation.

2.FACULTY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Department of Applied Physics and Telecommunications

Technician (1 Post)

Qualifications

  • First degree in Applied Physics/equivalent OR Higher National Diploma in Instrumentation and Control/ equivalent
  • Should have knowledge of PLCs and DCS systems.
  • A reputable track record of electronic and instrument design.
  • Typical industrial/ laboratory experience will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Calibration and repair of lab equipment.
  • Design and fabrication of electronic circuits.
  • Assisting during students’ practical and offering technical assistance to students during their projects.
  • Assisting in identifying and procurement of laboratory and teaching equipment, and consumables.
  • General lab maintenance.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
