Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transcribing braille assignments, tests and examinations for marking by lecturers
  • Using an embosser to translate print into braille for reading material
  • Attending to the needs of all students with disabilities
  • Attending committee and Faculty meetings
  • Giving reports on matters affecting students with disabilities

 

POST (B) JAWS TUTOR X 1

Qualifications

  • a computer skills qualification
  • evidence of knowledge and teaching abilities of jaws software
  • a qualification in special education/ disability studies an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To teach students with visual impairment to learn and use computers at all campuses
  • Attending committee and Faculty meetings
  • Giving reports on matters affecting students with visual impairment

JOB TITLE:             DEPUTY SECURITY OFFICERS X 2

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 ‘O’ levels including English and Mathematics
  • Possession of ‘A’ level, relevant Diploma and Degree qualifications or evidence of studying towards such qualifications would be an added advantage

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Deputy Security Officer shall be responsible to the Chief Security Officer for assisting in:

  • Heading and administration of the Security Services Department.
  • Supervision of investigations and delegation of duties to junior officers.
  • Crime control management.
  • Presenting evidence in criminal courts or in Student Disciplinary Committee on behalf of the University.
  • Disaster management.
  • Sitting in some University Committees
  • Liaising with ZRP and other security agents on security matters.
  • Developing functional policies and strategies on Security Policy and Standing Orders, training, maintaining order, peace, safeguarding life and property as well as preventing and detecting crime.
  • Liaison with Police regarding any incidences, reports and investigations relating to the University and assisting in gathering evidence with a view of securing prosecution and conviction where relevant.
  • To assess the security environment within the organization and trends countrywide with a view to advise management and proffer recommendations
  • Identify security weaknesses, draw appropriate and supportable conclusions and make recommendations to management.
