QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Degree in Accounting.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
  • Must have good Information Technology background.
  • Possess strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and ability to pay attention to detail.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ management accounting experience in a medium to large scale Organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight on the preparation of Management Accounts.
  • Oversight on the preparation of Departmental and University Budgets.
  • Monitoring University expenditure and checking adherence to Budget.
  • Performing environmental scans and determining key economic trends so as ascertain important micro and macro –economic trends necessary for decision making.
  • Providing University Performance Review input to the Finance Committee Report.
  • Department’s focal point for service delivery to faculty and non-faculty customers.
  • Appraising fund raising projects before they are implemented and performance review of the same.
  • Documenting and monitoring effectiveness of University Control Systems and standard task procedures.
  • Lead implementation of new and review of current systems innovations.

•    5 ‘O’ levels including English Language.
•    Certificate in Security or proof of having received training in security operations from reputable accredited institutions.
•    At least five years’ experience in the security sector.
•    Demonstrable ability in the use of Computers.
•    Knowledge of closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring an added advantage.

JOB SUMMARY
The job requires persons who:
•    Pay attention to detail;
•    Are able to maintain standing guard for prolonged timeframes;
•    Have discipline to conduct scheduled patrol sessions that span over long distances;
•    The persons should be willing and able to offer these and other services as directed by the Chief Security Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Maintaining law and order, preserving peace, protecting life and property from malicious damage.
•    Ensuring that any form of civil commotion that may occur in any part of the University is reasonably suppressed
•    Ensure that rules and regulations pertaining to entry and exit points are complied with.
•    Regulate access to University entry and exit points and ensuring that only staff, registered students, bona fide visitors and stakeholders enter the premises.
•    To ensure that University property leaving the premises has the requisite authority by conducting searches on all persons and vehicles leaving the campus/ premises.
•    Patrol the area of jurisdiction with a view to prevent crime, detect any criminal occurrences and apprehend offenders.
•    Attend to scenes and offer first aid where necessary as well as coordinating with the various internal and external stakeholders in managing crime scenes, public order situations and disasters that may occur within University premises.
•    Exercise good customer relations without compromising on firmness and fairness.
•    To receive and record all the relevant particulars of all found property handed in at various security points.

Qualifications

We require a suitably qualified and experienced person to teach undergraduate programmes in the specific area chosen. The ideal person must:

  • be a qualified educationist;
  • possess a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant area with a minimum degree class of 2.1;
  • possess a Master’s degree in the relevant area.

NB: For the Fashion and Textile posts, ideal candidates should possess a PhD in the area since they would teach masters programme. Candidates who are at an advanced stage towards attaining a relevant doctorate degree in the area may be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work, supervise and assess students on Work Related Learning, and should be able to teach at least four (4) distinct areas in their field of specialization. These areas must be indicated in the application.

Qualifications:

DESCRIPTION

  • Provide reference services to library patrons and assists in the management of Library Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees, coordinates and performs the integrated activities of the Library.
  • Identifies new information trends and recommends new technologies.
  • Identifies and develops strategic opportunities and directions for the Library.
  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures.

Qualifications:

DESCRIPTION

  • Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of library administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that library facilities are well maintained.
  • Makes recommendations to the Senior Assistant Librarian for new services, collections, additions and replacement of materials.
  • Ensures the implementation of library policies and manuals of procedure.
  • Serves as the liaison point between the library and other University units.
  • Supervises library stock take activities.
  • Keeps records relating to library staff.
  • Ensures effective operation of library security systems.
  • Maintains patron records.
  • Ensures high standards of customer care and responds to queries by library patrons.
  • Monitors continuously the relevance of the library collection and acts accordingly.

Qualifications:         

  • National Certificate in Library and Information Science.

DESCRIPTION

  • Assists in offering circulation services in the Library.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Charging and discharging of books to students on shift work basis.
  • Shelving of library books.
  • Performs weekend duties.
  • Assists clients to locate books from the Online Public Access Catalogue and Stack Room.
  • Checks the condition of library books for relocation to the Binding Section.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.

The Deputy Security Officer shall be responsible to the Chief Security Officer for assisting in:

  • Heading and administration of the Security Services Department.
  • Supervision of investigations and delegation of duties to junior officers.
  • Crime control management.
  • Presenting evidence in criminal courts or in Student Disciplinary Committee on behalf of the University.
  • Disaster management.
  • Sitting in some University Committees
  • Liaising with ZRP and other security agents on security matters.
  • Developing functional policies and strategies on Security Policy and Standing Orders, training, maintaining order, peace, safeguarding life and property as well as preventing and detecting crime.
  • Liaison with Police regarding any incidences, reports and investigations relating to the University and assisting in gathering evidence with a view of securing prosecution and conviction where relevant.
  • To assess the security environment within the organization and trends countrywide with a view to advise management and proffer recommendations
  • Identify security weaknesses, draw appropriate and supportable conclusions and make recommendations to management.
