Farewell, Job Well Done

Farewell, Job Well Done

A year well spent in the office of sub-wardenship was concluded with an atmosphere filled with satisfaction, heroism, a strong sense of service and unwavering loyalty to one’s University. The Division of Students Affairs held a certification dinner for the outgoing sub-wardens. It was a moment of great honour and celebration as the residence department led by Mr Premish Govan awarded certificates of honour to the men and women behind the smooth running of the department.

The sub-wardens came out in full force donned in glamourous outfits and were all smiles as they took turns under the spotlight to receive their awards.

These are young men and women, who took up the call to be team players to volunteer service to their institution. It was time to give due respect to a group of students who slept odd hours to make sure each and every other student was comfortable in the halls of residence. The department showed much appreciation to the long hours spent during the student check in and check out process. The Division of Students Affairs was there to salute and appreciate the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by this unique group of unsung heroines and heroes, who had to juggle both their schoolwork as well as the responsibility of serving others.

The colourful awards dinner was characterised by merriment as guests also took to the dancefloor. Among those who graced the event were members of the Division of Students Affairs namely; Mr Lunga, Miss Mhlanga, Miss Viriri, Mrs Chinodya and Miss Velemu. Also present were both on and off campus wardens together with members of the student Representative Council (SRC). Speaking at the end of the dinner, SRC President, Mr Jorum Mkono, thanked the University for its continued support and unwavering commitment to the welfare of students.
